Power outages that were displayed in NIE website
Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE) have confirmed an IT issue has led to confusion among residents in County Derry.
The company’s power checker map on their website reported many locals being left without power across County Derry and throughout Northern Ireland.
The map showed power outages taking in Dungiven, Ballykelly, Killaloo, Campsie and the Waterside area of the city.
Data had indicated that approximately 4,000 properties were affected.
NIE confirmed to the County Derry Post this was false information due to an IT error which is in the process of being resolved.
