Busy weekend ahead as two tractor runs to take place in County Derry

County Derry will be busy this weekend with two charity tractor runs set to take place.

The first tractor run will take place on Saturday, August 23 in Dungiven. The run will leave from Benedy Community Centre. 

Registration is at 11am with leaving at 1pm sharp. The whole route will be approximately ten miles. The return route will be via Birren Road, Killew Road, Corrick Road. There will be a DJ from 4.30pm to 9pm. Hot food will be served from 1.30pm to 4.30pm. 

Raffle tickets will be on sale also with a draw taking place at 4.30pm. Entry fee to the fun day will be £5 for adults and kids go free. It is £20 per tractor and £10 per vintage car or motorbike. This includes refreshments and hot food.

Sunday, August 24 will see a charity tractor run taking place in Park. The run will leave the village at 2pm and refreshments will be served after in Park Hall. 

This year’s run will be held in memory of Ronnie Jamieson, Frank Gormley and Paddy Joe McCloskey, three much-loved members of the community. 

All proceeds from the day will go to two incredible causes - Foyle Hospice and North West Cancer Centre Ward 50.

Keep an eye on the Park Farmers’ Group page as they will be posting raffle and auction prizes. There will be some amazing donations coming in that you won’t want to miss.

The Park Farmers’ Group have encouraged the community to come together once again to make another memorable day while raising funds for two charities that provide so much to local families.
