Gym owner Keeva Neely (24) lost out in a place in the final of BBC show Gladiators on Saturday.
The Swatragh woman was eliminated during the semi-final losing out to her competitor Amanda Wah from Warrington.
Keeva started off well but ultimately Amanda took over the points during the last two challenges.
When presenter Bradley Walsh asked how she felt after ‘giving it her all’, the Co Derry woman said: “I’m just so excited and happy for Amanda. She was a worthy winner throughout all of today, but do you know what - I will take top four on Gladiators and I’ll treasure that forever.”
Upon hearing the news Keeva grasped her family and friends who watched closely rom the audience.
Family members held a sign throughout the show with the words ‘Keeva has the luck of the Irish’ on it.
Speaking to the County Derry Post Keeva reflected on her journey saying,
"The experience was something I will remember forever, for me it was never about winning. I realised from a very early stage how privileged I was to even be picked in the first place!! Since I lost my semi final heat, the amount of support I have received from social media is insane, that’s what it’s all about to me. Inspiring people and letting people know it’s ok to say yes to things that scare you because it could have the most positive impact on your life."
