The play will take place in the Flowerfield Arts Centre, Portstewart

Flowerfield Arts Centre is delighted to present OTTILIE, a captivating play that brings to life the story of one of Northern Ireland’s most prolific blues artists, Ottilie Patterson (1932-2011).

Hailed as the greatest blues singer in the UK and Ireland during the 1950s and ‘60s, Ottilie, born in Comber, County Down, rose to international fame as the lead singer of the Chris Barber Band. Sharing stages with legendary artists including Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Muddy Waters, and Sister Rosetta Tharpe, her voice and talent left an indelible mark on the world of blues and jazz.

Written and directed by Philip Johnston and featuring the talented Rosaleen Agnew, OTTILIE is a heartfelt tribute to Patterson’s extraordinary life and musical legacy. Combining drama with her iconic music, the production offers an intimate and powerful portrayal of a pioneering artist.

Don’t miss this one-night-only performance at Flowerfield Arts Centre on Saturday 22 March.

Tickets are available now at Flowerfield.org or by calling Flowerfield on 028 7083 1400.
