Growth Deals for Causeway Coast and Glens & Mid South West
Cathal Mallaghan MP today welcomed the British Government’s decision, announced following the latest budget, to resume funding for the Mid South West and Causeway Coast and Glen Growth Deals, emphasising that the renewed commitment will bring substantial benefits to communities across the north.
The announcement follows a meeting between Sinn Féin MPs Cathal Mallaghan and Dáire Hughes and British Secretary of State Hilary Benn last week.
The MP said: “The British Government’s decision to resume City Growth Deals is welcome news for Mid Ulster and the north. This funding is absolutely essential in ensuring our communities can build a future of opportunity, resilience, and innovation.
For too long, we have been working to achieve ambitious local goals with limited resources, and today’s commitment will make a real difference.
“These Growth Deals allow us to move forward on projects that will transform our infrastructure, support local businesses, and create the kinds of jobs that provide long-term security for our people. This investment means Mid Ulster can continue with plans that attract new talent, boost our economy, and strengthen our community in ways that benefit everyone.
“This funding is not just about growth – it’s about fairness and ensuring that our region has the same opportunities to thrive as anywhere else.”
