A County Derry McDonald's restaurant has been rated the third-best UK McDonald’s according to new data.

The Coleraine branch of the restaurant has been revealed as the third highest ranked according to research conducted by QR Code Generator.

They looked at the percentage of five-star and one-star Google reviews for all McDonald’s across the UK to see which were the highest-rated and which were the lowest-rated.

While Coleraine is ranked third, it is not the highest ranked McDonald’s restaurant in Northern Ireland, with a franchise in Omagh finishing second on the UK-wide list.

The franchise in Coleraine recorded 51.32% of reviews being five stars and a Google rating of 4.1. This restaurant has also received a low number of one-star reviews, at just 7.58%.

This was not far off the Cornwall Services in St Austell, Cornwall, with the highest-rated McDonald’s in the UK. The fast-food outlet recorded 52.42% of users leaving five-star reviews, compared to just 6.18% of users leaving one-star reviews, and has a rating of 4.1.

Fourth on the list was also a restaurant in Northern Ireland, Sprucefield in Lisburn. It had 51.11% of reviews being five stars. They also recorded 9.20% of reviews being one-star and a Google rating of 4.

The top five is rounded off by Wincanton in Somerset, with 51.55% being five-star. The restaurant recorded 9.81% of reviews as one-star and a Google rating of 4.1.

Sixth and seventh were both locations in Northern Ireland, Portadown and Dundonald. The former McDonald’s restaurant received a 50.13% percentage of their reviews being five-star, while the latter received 49.95%, the first to be under 50%.

The list is rounded out by Sutterton in Boston (49.60%), Bourne (49.26%), and Shiptonthorpe (49.08%) in eighth, ninth, and tenth, respectively.

Northern Ireland sweeped the top 10 with half of the McDonald’s restaurants from the country, with a further two in the top 15.
