Campaign launched in bid to find Derry man missing from his London home for over three months

A campaign has been launched on social media in a bid to find a Co Derry man who has been missing from his London home for over three months
Robert Gibson (pictured), known affectionately as “Robbie,” is originally from Ballinderry.
He left his home in Gipsy Hill, Lambeth at around 3.00pm on Monday, June 13 to go for a walk.
At around 6.45pm that evening he was seen boarding the catamaran from Portsmouth to Ryde on the Isle of Wight.
In the past, Mr Gibson enjoyed exploring historical sites and National Trust properties on the island on day trips with his young son.
A search of the Bonchurch Landslip and Devil’s Chimney area of the Isle of Wight at the end of June proved unsuccessful.
Appeals for information by the Metropolitan Police in London have also been unsuccessful.
The 45-years-old is described as being slim, around 6ft tall and with grey hair.
Police believe that he may be in a vulnerable state of mind.
Friend and former work colleague, Andrew Barber, who has known Robbie for around 15 years, described him as “one of a kind”and a “fantastic guy.”
“I last saw him at the beginning of April,” he said.
“I’ve never seen him like this in all the years I’ve known him. It’s completely out of character. He enjoyed the craic and was great fun to be with.”
“His friends and family are missing him and just want to know that he’s safe and well.”
Friends and colleagues have launched a campaign on social media to help with the search, using the hashtag #findRobbie.
Anyone with information regarding Robert’s whereabouts is asked to call police in Lambeth on 07878 131 748 or the charity Missing People on 116 000.
