The City Centre Initiative (CCI) is calling on businesses across the city centre to take part in its much-loved annual "Twelve Windows of Christmas" Competition, bringing festive cheer and celebrating the creative flair of local traders.
The competition is open to all types of businesses including local independents, major retailers, and hospitality venues such as pubs and restaurants. Participants are encouraged to design eye-catching festive window displays, which will be showcased to the public throughout the Christmas season.
From Monday, December 1 2025, the top twelve shortlisted displays will be revealed, and the public will be invited to vote for their favourites via Facebook. Voting will be open until 5.00pm on Sunday, December 7, with prizes awarded for the most popular windows.
Jim Roddy, Chief Executive of CCI, expressed his enthusiasm for this year’s competition: “We’re very excited to launch the 2025 Christmas Window Competition. This is an opportunity for businesses to get creative, attract more customers, and amplify the festive atmosphere in our city centre.
"The community always enjoys seeing the imaginative displays that brighten our streets, and thanks to support from U105, Derry City & Strabane District Council, Maldron Hotels, Bauer Media Group, and Foyleside, we’re delighted to offer some wonderful prizes this year.”
