A special event has been held in Derry to mark the 25th anniversary of one the city’s best known funeral directors.
The Mayor of Derry and Strabane, Alderman Hilary McClintock, welcomed staff and friends of Adair & Neely to the Guildhall earlier this week to congratulate them on their 25th anniversary.
The funeral directors on Duke Street has been serving the local community for 25 years, with the event seeing the Mayor present father and son Jack and Wayne Glenn of Adair & Neely with a special memento to mark the milestone.
Commenting, Wayne Glenn, Manager at Adair & Neely, said: “I've worked at Adair & Neely for 19 years alongside my dad Jack, who retired recently, and it was an honour for us to be invited to the Guild Hall to be recognised by the Mayor.
“It was a wonderful opportunity for our staff and representatives from the clergy to share in the celebration of our 25th anniversary as we received such a warm welcome.”
He continued: “Adair & Neely has undergone great change over the years, evolving to offer a more professional but still very personal service.
We now have much better premises than we did originally and as we are in the business of creating and preserving memories, it's a privilege for us to be entrusted with taking care of generations of families in the city who continue to use our business after 25 years.”
