Rising Derry country star Abbie Mac is set to release her highly anticipated new single, 'Mine and Yours', on Friday, February 28 2025. The song, with its folk-country roots and emotionally charged lyrics, explores the haunting experience of feeling overshadowed by a partner's ex.
In this powerful folk-country banger, comparable to artists like Noah Kahan and Zach Bryan, Abbie Mac pleads for her boyfriend to let go of the memories of his past relationship and tackles the emotional awkwardness of being in a relationship where the ghost of an ex still lingers. Abbie begs for the chance to rewrite their own story, erasing the old chapters and make it truly theirs.
Reflecting on the inspiration behind the song, Abbie shares: "I really wanted to write something that tries to explain how you feel when you think your boyfriend might still love his ex.
"Sometimes it feels like you are living her life, doing all the things they used to do together. But at the same time, there’s this sense of hope - hope that you can rewrite the story and make it truly your own, make it 'mine and yours'."
Abbie Mac, who hails from Derry, has been making waves in the UK country scene for the past few years. As the youngest artist ever to perform at the prestigious C2C Festival, and with a standout performance at Hyde Park last year supporting Morgan Wallen, Abbie is quickly becoming a household name.
