Video: Derry students take to the skies to emulate Amelia Earhart

A group of five Thornhill College students had a helicopter tour of Derry after winning The Amelia Earhart STEM Challenge

A group of Derry students took to the skies as a reward for winning the Amelia Earhart STEM Challenge hosted by Ulster University. Five Thornhill College students enjoyed a helicopter ride from City of Derry Airport to take in the sites of Derry including their school, before returning to the airport. The prize was jointly sponsored by the City of Derry Airport and Cutting Edge helicopters. The Royal Academy of Engineers Amelia Earhart STEM Challenge, now in its third year, aims to foster interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics among young minds, while honouring the remarkable legacy of the famous aviator.
