A new documentary about the "amazing working-class women who were the backbone of the 1984/1985 Miners' Strike' in Britain is to be screened in Derry.
The documentary called 'Iron Ladies' is told by the women themselves.
According to Christie Allanson of Shut Out The Light Films, "From Scotland down to Kent, real 'Iron Ladies' from the coalfields shed light on their experiences of the year long struggle against the British state, trying to save their communities.
"The film is on general release in cinemas and comes to Derry later this month for a special Q&A screening," she added.
'Iron Ladies' plays at The Nerve Centre on Friday, January 30 at 7pm and features a Q&A with contributor Rose Hunter (North Staffordshire Miners' Wives Action Group) and the director, Dan Draper.
