General Election 2024: SDLP's Cara Hunter pleased with her East Derry campaign despite loss

SDLP's Cara Hunter was one of the candidates for the East Derry Westminster MP seat. 

However she was unable to trump either Sinn Fein's Kathleen McGurk or DUP's Gregory Campbell.

Cara Hunter was an outsider to win the election, and so was pleased to have increased her voter base in this election.

She was also ecstatic about her parties performance in the general election as they held their two seats from 2019.

Mr. Campbell has held the seat since 2001, and he had a 9,600 majority in the 2019 election but this year the seat has gone to a recount.
