WATCH: Freshly-elected East Derry MLAs pay tributes to loved ones

Claire Sugden made an emotional tribute to her late father.

Independent MLA Claire Sugden paid tribute to her father following her re-election in Magherafelt this afternoon.

The East Derry representative was joined by Sinn Féin's Caoimhe Archibald, SDLP's Cara Hunter and DUP's Alan Robinson on stage at Meadowbank Leisure Centre.

Robinson, succeeding his father as MLA for the area, saluted 80-year-old George for his energy in knocking doors around the constituency on the campaign trail for five weeks.
