A video has emerged of a Translink bus being towed by a Jeep as it struggled to get through an icy County Derry road.
The incident occurred on Tuesday January 17 in Claudy and a video was posted to the Claudy Life Facebook page.
A local man in a Jeep came to the rescue of the 212 before Translink called all journeys off for the rest of the evening.
A Translink spokesperson said:
“We are working hard to keep services moving during these adverse weather conditions.
“However, due to worsening weather and road conditions last night, a section of the Baranailt Road, Claudy, became very difficult to negotiate, affecting our 212 coaches on the Derry~Londonderry to Belfast route.
“212 services were subsequently cancelled that night as a result of poor road conditions, but normal timetabled services resumed the next morning,” the spokesperson said.
