Police in Derry are appealing for information after car stolen in Derry was completely destroyed after being set on fire by joyriders.
At about 4.30am this morning police received a report of a Toyota RAV4 on fire near the border at Coshquin Road.
The car had been stolen from Hazlebank Road in Drumahoe.
At around 3.45am, the car had been spotted being driven erratically near the Texaco filling station at Bridgend.
It may also have been in the Synge Court area of Ballymagorarty at about 4am along with a quad.
Two men were noted trying to break into cars in the area.
The quad may have been a red and black Yamaha that was stolen from Fincairn Road in Drumahoe in the early hours of Tuesday.
Meanwhile, police have also confirmed that a Citroen car seen by members of the public being driven erratically at Rossnagalliagh Park at about 5.30am this morning had been stolen from Brookdale Park in Shantallow.
It was later recovered by police.
Anyone who can help identify those who stole the vehicles, or used them during the night, is asked to contact the CID at Strand Road.
Information can be given on the police non-emergency number 101.
Alternatively, it can be provided to the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
