Republic of Ireland captain Seamus Coleman is set to be out of the game for a considerable period of time after breaking his leg in last night's World Cup qualifier against Wales which ended 0-0 in Dublin.

Wales' Neil Taylor was given a straight red card following the tackle in the 70th minute.

Coleman was immediately taken to hospital.

The injury to the Everton defender is a huge blow to his club and country.

Numerous players have extended their good wishes to him on his recovery.
