Former Derry City and Institute striker Stephen O'Flynn has announced his retirement from football, bringing an end to a 20-year career in the game.

The striker, who played for the Candy Stripes in 2005 and 2006, retired back in 2012 but returned to football with local side Institute, before going on to play with Crusaders, Glentoran, Donegal Celtic and Ballinamallard.

O'Flynn will be fondly remembered amongst 'Stute supporters for his goals in the 2-14-/15 season, whilst Derry City fans will remember him for his winner against IFK Gothenburg in the UEFA Cup tie at the Brandywell back in 2006.
