Top class boxing takes place in the Maldron Hotel( ( on Saturday, March 30 as Oakleaf Boxing club take on a crack team from Holy Family, Drogheda.

The bill will feature Brett McGinty in what is sure to be one of his last tournaments as an amateur before he turns to the paid ranks.

Ulster Senior champion Tom Stokes will also feature on the bill as will a crop of Ulster and Nine County champions including Sean Devenney, Jack Harkin, Paddy Ward, Paddy Crumlish and Eimear Kelly. Another enthralling contest will be between the Irish champion Ella Hughes from Rochester’s and Oakleaf’s Makenzie Murray. This should be a cracker.

The tournament begins at 8pm but there will be five exhibitions beginning at 7:30pm.

Admission will be £6 and £4 payable at the door.
