Promising youngster, Tony McNamee, has parted ways with Derry City to join up with Irish Premier League side Glenavon.
The 21-year-old has always been highly thought of by the Brandywell faithful as a potential star of the future with bags of ability but, after a frustrating season so far where chances in the first team have been limited, the Ramelton man makes the move to Glenavon.
McNamee has signed on an amateur contract and, after his international clearance went through yesterday, he could be in line for a place in the squad tonight as the blues welcome top-of-the-table Ballymena United to town (kick off: 7.45pm).
McNamee, brother of Derry City star Barry, could add a whole new creative string to Glenavon's bow around the middle of the park.
His new club enjoyed a fantastic comeback at the weekend when they grabbed two late goals to draw away to champions Cliftonville with another former Derry City player, Ciaran Martyn, bagging himself a hat-trick.
