Foyle Valley AC’s popular Wilkie’s 5-mile run will take place tonight at 7.30pm.

Held in memory of late Colm Wilkinson, the race is one of the most popular in the local calendar and is set to attract another large number of participants this year.

The course will be the same as previous years, along the cycle path by the River Foyle at Brandywell.

The 5 mile race with the introduction of chip timing is an accurately measured, flat and fast course which will appeal to all runners who would like to measure their run over a fixed distance.

Registration for the event opens at 6pm to 7.15pm at the Long Tower Youth Centre which is beside the Brandywell Stadium.

The run will be set off at 7.30pm along the traffic free route. Please allow 15 minutes to walk from the youth centre to the start area along the cycle path.

Entry fee of £10.00 will include a quality technical tee-shirt for the first 150 to enter and refreshments for all entrants after the event. Prizes will be awarded for all categories.

All money raised will be distributed between local charities.
