Derry basketball side, North Star, recorded a stunning victory over Ulster league and playoff champions, Belfast Star, at home on Saturday

Having succumed to six straight defeats thus far this season, the Creggan men have failed to cope with the loss of several key players during the off season after a 2012/13 campaign which saw them make the whole way to finals weekend last May, only to be ousted by Saturday's opponents and eventual champions, Belfast Star.

But Andy Gill's men produced the most unlikely of victories when the return 6'10" centre Ronan O'Leary from the States sparked a revival in fortunes for the Derry side who were full value for their seven-point win.
