Rural Hawaii won the Boylesports Irish Greyhound Derby Final at Shelbourne Park in Dublin tonight.

It was a first Derby win for trainer Graham Holland.

The winning time was 29.65 in a race that saw Rural Hawaii making a great break from the traps and holding on to win for Helen and Michael O'Dwyer.

Holycross Leah was second with Sonic, the favourite, in third.

First prize was €125,000.

In the Boylesports Irish Greyhoubd Derby Consolation Final, Farloe Rumble, owned by Derry's Paul Ellis, finished at the back of the field in a race win by Ela Alecko in 29.76.

There was no joy either for Ellis in the final race where Farloe Joey was fifth.
