World Motocross legend Jeffrey Herlings will visit Desertmartin for the fifth round of the British Motocross Championship.
The 24 year-old Dutchman is a four time world champion it has been confirmed he will be at the meeting in Desertmartin, on Sunday, June 30, courtesy of Milwaukee Powertools and Hitachi KTM.
Presently, it is not confirmed whether Herlings will compete, or even ride a few demo laps, but his multitude of fans will be excited to meet and greet the star on his first visit to Northern Ireland, if he does compete, it will be well worth the trip to see a once in a generation sportsman in action.
Since bursting onto the scene as a precocious at of 15 year-old, he has stormed to legendary status already by winning four World titles already.
During a record breaking 2018, he won his fourth title by winning 17 from 19 Grands Prix in 2018, winning 33 of 38 motos, and only dropping 17 points from a possible maximum.
It is domination not seen since Stefan Everts in his prime, he is already being talked of as the best ever seen, with 84 GP wins to his credit, ‘The Bullet’ is raising his sport to a new level with almost otherworldly speed and technique.
He is sure to be impressed with the World Class facility at Desertmartin - and the enthusiastic support of the local crowd. The track last hosted a MXGP round back in 2006 when New Zealand rider Josh Coppins secured a memorable victory over 10 times World Champion Stefan Everts, and is always a highlight of the British calendar.
Herlings has entered a new personal sponsorship deal with Milwaukee Powertools, the leading professional power tools brand in the world and sponsor of the Hitachi KTM fuelled by Milwaukee squad.
The appearance of Herlings at Desertmartin has been made possible by the efforts of Dale McElveen and Robert Vos, General Managers of Milwaukee UK/Ireland and Milwaukee Benelux respectively.
