Derry City manager Declan Devine insists he is far from done adding to his squad despite adding five new players to his squad today.
With the start of the new League of Ireland season just ten days away, the City boss has been busy behind the scenes and he unveiled a number of new and exciting players which significantly boosts the Candy Stripes squad ahead of the league opener against UCD at the Brandywell on February 15.
Former Bohemians forward Eoghan Stokes, Argentinian midfielder Gerardo Bruna, and Scottish defender Darren Cole were all unveiled while the loan signing of striker Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe from Colchester United should also be completed by tomorrow.
But it is the signing of Institute striker Michael McCrudden on a pre-contract which will have the City fans most excited, with the Irish League’s joint top scorer on 19 goals this season, set to officially become a Candy Stripe in July.
“We know that we are building for the future at the football club,” Devine explained. “Michael McCrudden is a fantastic person and a fantastic footballer. He’s the top goal scorer in the Irish League, he knows the pitch inside out, he knows the city inside out, he knows what it takes to play for Derry City Football Club. He’s a player I hold in the highest regard and a person I hold in the highest regard and to get him on a pre-contract, we’re delighted.”
