Lumen Christi College were crowned senior Ulster champions this afternoon when they defeated De La Salle of Downpatrick in the Ward Cup final in Ballymena.
The Derry school led from the 13th minute of the game and a goal either side of half-time put them out of touch in a game that finished 3-10 to 1-8.
It follows on from the heartbreak of last year when the school lost out in the showdown by a point to Aquinas of Belfast.

Slaughtneil and Derry player Chrissy McKaigue was the first to offer his congratulations as he tweeted out: “Well done @LumenChristi97. Out of the 6 senior boys football competitions @ulsterschools, 4 of them this year have been won by Derry schools.”
