Paul Kee has made former Candy Stripes striker, Stephen O'Flynn, his first signing of the new year.

The Institute boss was quick to acquire the services of the out-of-contract Cork man on the first day of 2014 and the forward, famous for netting in Derry's legendary Uefa Cup win over Gottenburg in 2006, will join the squad ahead of the trip to loughshore.

O'Flynn formed part of Stephen Kenny's City side which came within a goal of completing a domestic treble back in '06 and is a welcome addition to the Riverside men who are further buoyed by the return of creative midfielder Aaron Walsh who had been suspended for a head butt since the North West Senior Cup final against Newbuildings back in October.

Speaking to DerryNow.com. Institute manager Paul Kee confirmed that the capture of O'Flynn wouldn't be his final bit of January business.
"In addition to Stephen, I've spoken to a another few players who will be coming in to join us for the second half of the season," he said.
