The Derry City board know a good thing when they see one. That’s why they have persuaded Peter Hutton to sign on at the Brandywell until 2016.

Just days after leading Derry City to their biggest win of the season, that 6-1 at UCD, the Board have announced an extension to Hutton’s contract.

Philip O’Doherty, Chairman of Derry City FC and the Board of Directors of Derry City FC, said in a statement:

“Peter has really hit the ground running and has achieved a much improved level of performance. This 2 year extension is a vote of confidence in his approach and a recognition of the hard work he has put in, over the last 4/5 weeks. We would ask the fans to show their support for Peter and the team by turning out in large numbers against Bohemians at the Brandywell.”

There has been a significant turnaround at Derry since Hutton took over, just two days after the departure of Roddy Collins. Performances, individual and as a group have improved immensely and with Marty McCann and Sean Hargan by his side, Peter Hutton has made fans excited about supporting Derry City again.
