Derry hurlers are trailing London by a two points on a scoreline of 0-06 to 1-05 at half-time in their Christy Ring quarter-final tie at Owenbeg.

The visitors made the better start and were four points ahead before Paul Cleary got Derry’s first score in the 14th minute.

Two points from Ruairi Convery (pictured) and a single score from Paddy McCloskey had the Oak Leafers back on level terms after 23 minutes.

Phelan with his third score of the day put London back in front four minutes from the break but two points from Paddy Henry put Derry in the lead for the first time as the game entered injury time at the end of the first half.

However, Tom McClean’s side were stunned when O’Dwyer flicked a long ball to the back of the Derry net in the dying seconds to send the visitors in front on a scoreline of 0-06 to 1-05.
