Derry have advanced to the semi-finals of the Christy Ring Cup after coming from behind to defeat London by the narrowest of margins in a thrilling quarter-final tie at Owenbeg this afternoon.

The game seemed heading for extra-time when Paddy Henry fired over a “65” deep into stoppage time to clinch the win for the Oak Leafers on a scoreline of 1-12 to 2-08.

Trailing by two points at half-time on a scoreline of 0-06 to 1-05 - the London goal coming from O’Dwyer in the dying seconds of the first-half - Derry confined the visitors to four scores – a goal and point in the second period – to progress to the last four.

Unlike the start of the first-half, which saw them trail by four points with 14 minutes gone, Derry started the second period much brighter and were four points in front after 48 minutes, thanks to a goal and three points from Henry.

O’Dwyer brought London back into contention with his second goal of the game and the visitors kept in touch until that last-gasp winner form man-of-the-match Henry.
