John McEvoy will take charge of Derry's senior hurlers for a second season after he was ratified at Tuesday's meeting of Derry County Board.

The former Dublin U21 boss and Laois native took over last year, less than six weeks before their opening NHL game with Down.

The Oakleafers narrowly missed out on promotion from Division 2B in the play-off and were beaten by eventual champions Meath in the Christy Ring Cup.

Once again, Johnny McGuirk - himself a former Dublin U21 boss - and Cushendall man Brian Delargy will form the management team.

McEvoy recently met with some of the players and Delargy was in attendance at Derry's U20B All-Ireland Semi-Final defeat at the hands of Down.

"Eoin McNicholl will lead the Strength and Conditioning team with Terry Gray appointed as Player Liaison and Logistics Manager," concluded a statement, released by Derry PRO Conor Nicholl

"We wish both the management team and playing panel best of luck for the 2020 season."
