Derry lead North West neighbours Donegal by three points at half-time in their Dr McKenna Cup group game at Owenbeg Dungiven.

Playing before a crowd of just over 3,000, Derry went behind to two Donegal points but went in front thanks to an Emmett McGuckin goal in the 15th minute.

Further points from Enda Lynn, Brian Og McAlary and McGuckin saw Derry lead by four points after 20 minutes on a scoreline of 1-03 to 0-02.

Two points from Donegal reduced the deficit to two six minutes from the break.

However, two points from frees by Derry captain Mark Lynch (pictured above), either side of a Donegal point, sees Derry lead at half-time on a scoreline of 1-05 to 0-05.
