A well-drilled St Patrick's and St Brigid's Claudy side were crowned Pat King Cup (Year 12 football) champions after a convincing 1-11 to 0-4 over Derry rivals St Colm's Draperstown at Owenbeg on Thursday.
Despite playing into the breeze, the winners were 1-5 to 0-4 ahead at the break. St Colm's enjoyed much of the early possession, but were wasteful and Claudy punished them with a Caoimhin McGavigan goal after six minutes.
St Colm's did have a spell of dominance in the middle of the first-half, when they pegged the score back to a single point.
Niall McGonagle landed two frees - one from either wing - to open a 1-4 to 0-4 Claudy lead.
Claudy had captain Jack Boyce's industry at midfield to push them forward but needed a fabulous diving save from goalkeeper Ethan McLaughlin to deny Conan Bradley.

Trailing 1-5 to 0-4 at the interval, St Colm's carved out a second goal chance but McLaughlin again made a save from a Marc Wilson shot.
Draperstown failed to score in the second-half, as Niall McCloskey and Brendan Byrne blotted out the threat of Jack Conway, who scored 2-7 in the semi-final.
At the other end, Niall McGonagle and Adam Murphy benefited from the play-making influence of Tiernan Feeney as Claudy ran out 10 point winners.
