Banagher 1-17 Loup 1-15
Michael McMullan in Owenbeg
LATE points from Peter Hagan and Conor Feeney (pictured above) saw Banagher create a shock in a pulsating game under lights in Owenbeg on Friday night.
Loup started brightest and led 0-7 to 0-3 after 15 minutes, with Anthony O'Neill, Paddy Coney and Declan McVey amongst their scorers.
Banagher began to close down the open spaces at midfield, they battled their way back into the game and Oisin McCloskey's 18th minute goal put Banagher ahead 1-5 to 0-7.
With their defence tightening and two points from Gavin O'Neill either side of half-time, Banagher led 1-10 to 0-9 and kept their noses in front for much of the game.
Loup, to their credit, kept coming back but were always going to need a goal to find their way back into the game. When it came it was the most unlikely of sources. An error saw Mark Lynch gave away possession leaving Ciaran Devlin to score the easiest of goals and Loup were looked like completing a smash and grab act.
Lynch levelled the game with three minutes to go and a Peter Hagan free had the Banagher fans on their feet before Conor Feeney's injury tine insurance point.
