English League One side Southend United chalked up their first win of the league with a  well-deserved 3-1 victory success over Millwall.

Former Finn Harps and Derry City favourite Stephen McLaughlin was on the scoresheet along with David Mooney and Luke O’Neill.

Manager Phil Brown made five changes for this one in a 3-4-3 formation among windy conditions at Roots Hall.

McLaughlin, who moved to Southend from Nottingham Forest - who has bought him from Derry City - was the club's Player of the Month in August.
