Roddy Collins has insisted that he will be 'disappointed' if Leon McSweeney does not sign for Derry City by the end of the week.

The 30-year-old versatile man, who has played all over midfield and right across the backline, has been heavily in the club's pre-season training at the Vale Centre in Greysteel this week and his efforts have not gone unnoticed by Collins who has offered him terms on a deal with the Candy Stripes.

McSweeney was recently released by Carlisle having played 10 games for the English League One side last season but the new Derry manager is hopeful that the club have 'swayed him to sign.'
