Derry runners Pius McIntyre and Darragh Crossan put in an impressive performances to the half-marathon and 10k races respectively at the Born 2 Run Surf ‘n’ Turf event held at Benone Beach in Co Derry today.

Foyle Valley AC athlete McIntyre posted a time of 1:24:42 over the 13.1 mile course to finish ahead of Springwell Running Club duo (1:26:10) and Colin Loughery (1:34:32).

Crossan (pictured), of Derry City Track Club, took first place in the 10k race with a time of 36:46.

Rhodri Jones, of Springwell Running Club, came second in 36:56 with Derry City Track Club’s Cathal McLaughlin third in 37:10

Fran McFadden, of Springwell Running Club, won the ladies’ half marathon in 1:43:32 with Gillian Cordner (Seapark AC), second 1:46:49, and Ursula Campbell (unattached) third 1:47:29

Springwell Running Club’s Ciara Toner took first place in the ladies 10k in 41:37 ahead of clubmates Kerri McIlmoyle (47:14) and Catherine Bell-Allen (48:22).
