FORMER Dundee and Kilmarnock striker, Mark Stewart, insists that he Derry City is the right club for him after the Scotsman signed for the Brandywell club yesterday.

Speaking with, the attacker - whose injury setback has kept him out of regular football since his days with Falkirk in 2011 - believes that his career fortunes can be transformed under Roddy Collins on the Lone Moor Road.

And, at 25, Stewart is confident of finding his feet again.

"Over the last couple of years I've been quite injury prone and I've picked up a couple of nasty injuries.  When Derry phoned, the first thing that attracted me was that it was something different.  I knew the league and that was appealing and the fact that Derry have qualified for Europe was another incentive.

"I didn't need much convincing to be honest.  As soon as I got over, I did a couple of days training and I loved it."
