All sports have achievements that any player would love to do, apart from win the main events.

In snooker, it’s a maximum break of 147.  Or in golf, it’s a hole in one.

In darts it's the nine dart finish, aptly named perfect leg.

Local darts player, Adrian ‘Butch’ Devine achieved this feat in the Weigh Inn Bar Omagh.

"To sum up his achievement, this was the very first nine dart finish in the venue which is renowned for being a top class quality darts venue."

Devine was entered in the very competitive Paddy Moane Memorial competition and in the semi-final he did what many professional darts players have never done in competition certainly.

‘Butch’, from Tyrone, plays locally in the Eglinton and District Darts League for Macon’s Bar Claudy and is a current county player for many years for Derry’s Area 10 team.

“Without question, he is one of the best darts players in Northern Ireland.  To sum up his achievement, this was the very first nine dart finish in the venue which is renowned for being a top class quality darts venue,” commented Rojoe McKinney of the Eglinton and District League.

“They have regular tournaments with many of the top current PDC and BDO players such as Daryl Gurney, Brendan Dolan, Michael Mansell, Claudy’s Gavin Carlin and many more over the years.”
