NORTHWEST Triathlon Club will host their popular kids 'Try-a-Tri' at Templemore Complex this weekend and spaces are still available.
The event, which follows on from the hugely successful adult Try-a-Tri just two weeks ago, offers local children the opportunity to take part in the event which consists of swimming, cycling and running.
Whether it is your child’s first attempt or they have experience in the event, the event is designed to give your son or daughter the best possible experience.
For those attempting the event for the first time, there will be an 8-length swim followed by a 1-lap cycle and a 1-lap run.
For the older kids and those more experienced, the swim will be either 12-16-lengths, followed by 2/3-lap cycle and a 2/3-lap run.
Everyone has to sign the register on Sunday Morning. If your kids are Triathlon Ireland Members please bring their card.
This registration will start from 9am in the main hall. The events will start approx 9:45 - 10:00 and finish approx 12:00.
There is going to be 3 main age groupings
Primary 8 Length Swim - 1 Lap Bike - 1 Lap Run
Secondary A (1st - 3rd Year) 12 Length Swim - 2 Lap Bike - 2 Lap Run
Secondary B (4th - 5th Year) 16 Length Swim - 3 Lap Bike - 3 Lap Run
As there is a difference in Primary School ages between North and South, we will use DOB to help insure kids get grouped in the correct age groups.
The Bike and Run all takes place on the grass.
Please insure that everyone brings a helmet.
