Finn Harps were beaten 2-0 by champions Dundalk in tonight's re-arranged fixture in Oriel Park.

Having shipped ten goals in two previous outings against the Lilywhites this season, there were positives for Harps boss Ollie Hirgan to take from this game even though it was a a sixth defeat on the spin.

Former Derry City player Patrick McEleney gave the Louth club an early sixth minute lead while the inspirational Daryl Horgan sealed the issue with a second on 75 minutes.

BJ Banda, whose goal at the end of last season clinched promotion, made his first appearance of the season when he came on as a substitute with five minutes to go.

Next up for Harps is a crunch home game against bottom side Longford Town on Friday night at Finn Park.
