Former Derry City and Finn Harps favourite Stephen McLaughliln has penned a new three year deal with English League One side Southend United.
The 27-year-old has been at Roots Hall since joining on loan in 2015 from Nottingham Forest.
Having just missed out on reaching the play-offs by one point last season, McLaughlin will be hoping to steer the Shrimpers into the Championship this season.
Speaking about his new contract, McLaughlin said: “I’m already settled here but now I know my future I can really look forward to the next few years and what it holds for me.”
McLaughlin began his soccer career in his native Inishowen with Clonmany Shamrocks.
