Kenny Shiels has not given up hope of adding to his Derry City squad in the coming week but one player leaving the club is Mark Timlin, who has joined Finn Harps.
The Buncrana youngster returned to the Candy Stripes from St. Patrick’s Athletic back in November, but has not been able to force his way into Kenny Shiels’ plans this season, making only three league starts, and one league cup start against Galway united.
Timlin, who hit 12 goals for Derry City to help them avoid relegation back in 2015, has not been able to recapture the scintillating form which lit up the Brandywell, and will now try his luck in Ballybofey.
Timlin was Derry’s most used substitute this season, appearing 11 times from the bench in all competitions, and has only played a total of 466 minutes of competitive football since February.
His last Derry City appearance was brief, as he was used as a second half substitute against Bohemians at Dalymount Park, only to be substituted himself just eight minutes later.
Finn Harps confirmed the signing this afternoon.
