Derry City FC have been drawn to play FC Midtjylland of Denmark in the Europa League first qualifying round

The Candystripes will play the first leg at the MCH Arena in Denmark on June 29 with the return fixture at The Sligo Showgrounds being played on July 6.

The MCH Arena has a capacity of 11,800.

FC Midtjylland finished third in the Danish Superliga last season.

The Danish club are owned by English businessman Matthew Benham who also owns Championship side Brentford FC.

Among their star players is former Tottenham, Real Madrid and Ajax player Rafael van der Vaart.

They defeated Manchester United 2-1 in the Europa League in February 2016 before losing the second leg at Old Trafford 5-1.

FC Midtjylland also defeated Southampton FC 2-1 in a two legged playoff in a Europa League playoff in the 2015/16 season.
