Derry City are trailing league leaders Dundalk 2-1 at half-time in their Airtricity League Premier Division clash being played at Oriel Park.
The visitors took the lead in the sixth minute when keeper Rogers pushed a Rory Patterson strike out to the feet of Austrian Lukas Schubert who had an easy tap-in from inside the six yard box.
However, the lead lasted only six minutes as John Mountrey beat Gerard Doherty from inside the penalty area.
The league leaders took the lead in the 17th minute when Brian Garland headed home a Horgan effort which had rebounded off the crossbar.
Derry keeper Gerard Doherty did brilliantly to deny former Derry City midfielder in the 33rd minute.
Derry are looking to extend their unbeaten run in the league to 11 games.
Elsewhere, Shamrock Rovers who are battling Derry for the third-place and European spot lead Galway United 2-1 in their 8,00pm kick-off game at Tallaght Stadium.
If the scores stay the same Rovers will move into third spot, a point ahead of Kenny Shiels team.
