Derry City will being aiming for an 11th league game without defeat when they travel to Oriel Park tonight for the first of two crucial games which manager Kenny Shiels has described as "season defining."

Tonight’s Airtricity Premiership clash with table-toppers Dundalk (kick-off 7.45pm) will be followed by a home clash with Shamrock Rovers at Brandywell on Tuesday night next.

City are currently in third place – the much sought-after European spot – two points ahead of Rovers, with both sides have played the same number of games.

The Candy Stripes have gone ten league games without defeat since losing 5-0 to Dundalk in July.

Shiels (pictured), has hailed next two games as ‘season-defining’ for the Brandywell club.

He said: “It’s wrong to isolate games but I think if we could win the next two league games, we would qualify for fourth positon, more or less.”
