A 17-year-old youth was arrested after a motorcycle scrambler collided with a police car in Derry on Saturday evening.
Inspector Jonny Hunter said that following the incident at Northland Road, the rider and pillion passenger ran off, but the rider was detained by police.
The youth was arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving, taking a vehicle without authority and driving without insurance.
The youth was later released on bail pending further enquires.
