Translink has announced that holiday timetables will operate on Easter Monday and Tuesday, April 6 and 7, for Derry commuters considering a day out or short trip.

Translink’s Director of Service Operations, Ian Campbell said “Whether you’re planning an Easter Break, or short trips closer to home, there are comfortable, affordable and hassle-free ways to travel with our attractive, everyday fare offers and public transport options this Easter.

“Timetables on Easter Monday and Easter Tuesday will operate differently to regular weekday schedules. Ulsterbus and Goldliner will be running Saturday, Sunday or holiday timetables, depending on the service. Metro and Glider will operate Sunday timetables on Easter Monday, and Saturday timetables on Easter Tuesday, while school holiday timetables will also be in effect over the Easter period.

“For rail passengers over Easter, Saturday schedules will be in place on Monday, April 6 and Tuesday, April 7.”

Ian continued: “Translink’s popular ‘Days Out’ webpage is packed with inspiration for Easter travel and provides all the practical information needed to plan the perfect trip.

“Other great value ticket options include our Family & Friends ticket for only £24, offering unlimited day travel on all Translink services in Northern Ireland. For Belfast days out, a Metro and Glider Family Day Ticket costs just £10 for unlimited day travel. Both of these tickets cover up to 2 adults and 4 children.

“The bus rambler ticket is also available for £10, offering unlimited day travel on Ulsterbus/Goldliner, Metro and Glider services after 9.15am while rail passengers can enjoy 25% off day return fares after 9.30am on NI Railways services over Easter.”

Ian Campbell concluded: "With our wide range of services and good value tickets available, we're looking forward to helping more people enjoy safe, reliable and convenient journeys by bus and train this Easter."

Passengers are advised to check and plan their Easter travel in advance using the Translink Journey Planner or website www.translink.co.uk.
