A special Seachtain na Gaeilge edition of Border Lines will take place on Saturday, March 14 2026, bringing an evening of live literature to Cultúrlann Uí Chanáin, Derry, alongside a daytime workshop at Little Acorns Bookstore.

Headlining the event is Luke Morgan, recipient of the Lawrence O’Shaughnessy Award 2025. Morgan will read from his acclaimed new collection Blood Atlas (Arlen House, 2025), completed with the support of The Arts Council of Ireland.

He is also the author of Beast (2022) and Honest Walls (2016), and one half of the award-winning filmmaking duo The Morgan Brothers. Earlier in the day, Morgan will lead a two-hour creative writing workshop at Little Acorns Bookstore (2:30–4:30pm), offering participants an opportunity to explore craft and develop new work.

The evening event, hosted by Omagh poet and curator Cat Brogan, will also feature local writers from Derry-based group This Writing Thing, including Jason Lovell, recipient of the Seamus Heaney Award for New Writing 2025, Ellen Factor, a long-established arts practitioner and poet originally from New York; Catherine Kay, an Inishowen-based writer whose work has been widely performed and published; and Michaela McDaid, an award-winning essayist and performer whose work has featured in national publications and on BBC Radio Foyle.

The programme showcases a mix of emerging and established voices from across the North West.

Border Lines is presented in partnership with Poetry Ireland and forms part of wider Seachtain na Gaeilge cultural programming in the city.

The event highlights newly published work, supports underrepresented and regional voices, and places live poetry at the heart of contemporary cultural celebration.
