Mairead Carlin to support legendary Ralph McTell in Derry concert

Folk music enthusiasts in Derry are in for a treat as the legendary singer-songwriter Ralph McTell announces his upcoming 'Time Drift of the Road' 80th Birthday Concert at Derry's Guildhall on Friday, May 16 at 8.00pm.

Supporting the legendary Ralph McTell on the night will be Derry's own Mairead Carlin.

Hailing from Culmore on the outskirts of Derry, Mairead returns to her hometown for what promises to be a truly special evening.

A true icon of the folk scene for over five decades, Ralph McTell, the voice behind the timeless hit "Streets of London", is embarking on his most extensive tour of Ireland to date in celebration of his milestone 80th year. This tour is a testament to his enduring passion for performing and a celebration of his remarkable career.

His connection with Irish audiences has been built over the years, beginning with his first show in Belfast in 1969. Since then, McTell has performed in iconic venues across the island, but this national tour will be his most comprehensive yet.

Reflecting on his upcoming dates, Ralph shares: "I have been doing shows in Ireland for many years. Firstly in Belfast in 1969 and later in Dublin, eventually getting around the whole country, but it has taken a while to do a national tour.

"In 2025, I shall be undertaking my biggest and most comprehensive set of dates around Ireland ever. My 2023 tour was hugely enjoyable, and 2025 is going to be a real celebration. I’m looking forward to it already."

'Time Drift of the Road' promises to be a moving celebration of both life and song.

Tickets for this special evening are priced at £32 (plus booking fee) and can be purchased HERE.
